IMO, there should be a big ol' piece of paper in the box informing parents of what parental features exist, and a way for them to look up the reasons for such things.
With the family controls it gets even more granular, setting hours they can play, who they can speak to etc etc.
I've messaged her a couple of times being polite. Thought it was just a random gamer as she's not said anything unusual yet. A college girl who was bored on her break cause her "friends were busy" she said "hey I have an idea if you're up for a little fun" Didnt respond after that just thought, hey beach get outta here I'm playing Persona 5 lol Edit: oh and she told me she loved playing Overwatch lol Thought i was the only one!
lmao clearly a scam straight from the first message they send.
It's sad that these companies should have to try to inform better, but it's also sad the media likes to make this into the fault of the console maker, instead of trying to make the perpetrator the actual problem, and using the oppurtunity to actually inform parents that certain features exist.
Some are more responsible, but when's the last time you saw more than a paragraph that these features existed at the end of an article or report on such matters.
This needs to get approved so the message to stay away from this scam gets out to gamers I got message too.
I wrote so cringy stuff because I knew that this is very sketchy.
The person claims to be an american college girl, but is mostly probably a fat loser with fat stains on all over his shirt Had one on psn contact me a few weeks back... Someone hits me up, says "hi", I ask who is this and they tell me that they're bored and just want to chat. first article I have ever read on N4G where I am struggling to see a single dislike to any of the comments!
It started off all innocent and escalated quickly... I instantly think Chris Hanson is going to come out from behind some curtain and ask me to sit down while he holds my chat log. Clearly angry fanboys don't enter articles about college girls!
@Weeb But wouldn't it be better if all these companies actually made a more concerted effort to inform people that these features exist?
Sure, these things do get bad reports, which paints the system or service in a negative light, but there are tools there to protect the children.
I've got these messages a few times now and I block and report them.
