She said she thought she saw something but wasn't sure. She think maybe I am not as far along as we thought. First of all, a tech will always do a better job than the OBGYN...yes, they are doctors, but this is not their area of expertise. You need a transvaginal ultrasound performed by a competent tech. I went in yesterday at exactly 7 weeks and there was our little jelly bean! You little dude is in there, it just takes a little while for them to makes their appearance sometimes :) i really wouldnt worry about it my first ultra sound was when i was around 6 weeks and they didnt see my baby either. I thank GOD each and everyday that I wake up that everything is fine.
It was an emotion that I will never forget first nothing on the screen then we saw the baby.If you HCG level isnt @ least 1000-2000 ml U/ml then you are not as far along. I had 2 periods in october & both was almost 2wks before i was even suppose 2 start & they calculated me 2 be 9wks but i started haveing bleeding & went 2 ER.They did ultrasound & found NO fetus structure & THEN they checked my HCG level & it was only 40. But because the last period that I had before I missed was irregular they decided to do an ultrasound. My OB had her ultrasound tech specialist do the ultrasound and the only thing they could see was a gestational sac. At frist I panicked, but was reassured by my doc (an ultrasound tech) that my dates could be off, or it could be too early. That was just last week and I am happy to report that we saw a baby with a heartbeating away and they estimated the crown to rump measurements to 9 1/2 weeks. PS-Lacy is correct about the Tech's doing a better job than the doc's---my OB admitted this to me. I went in at 6 weeks, they did a transvaginal ultrasound and there was a gestational sac but nothing in it. :-) I am 5w4d today and I am terrified that I will miscarry again. They didn't have a ultrasound tech to do it so my OBGYN performed the ultrasound. So she scheduled me to come back in two weeks from today. p/s this was an abdominal ultrasound I'm answering as an ultrasound tech of 12 years. So if you are under 6 weeks, it's less likely they will see baby. So that made me 6 1/2 weeks at the time and all they could see was a gestational sac. So the doctor told me to come back in a week later. I had a miscarriage on 9-6-10 (labor day) and I am constantly comparing this pregnancy to that one.) so your urine can be tested for glucose, protein, red and white blood cells and bacteria.
One more thing: Be prepared to answer lots of questions (health histories can take a while), but more importantly, to ask some of your own (bring a list so you won't forget any).
Expect this first of many prenatal checkups to be exciting…and long.
You'll have a thorough physical, including a pelvic exam, Pap smear (unless you've recently had one) and initial blood tests to determine your blood type, Rh factor, whether you're iron-deficient and likely whether your baby is at risk for chromosomal abnormalities.
If you met someone and got pregnant by them within a short time or right away, what was the outcome?
When did you get pregnant after meeting them/sleeping with them?
Good Luck to you Well I know that when I went 2 ER yesterday they told me you have 2 be 2 least 5-6wks pregnant 4 them 2 see any kind of embryo in the uterus.
